Configuration Management
This function allows IT to have control over IT assets, such as hardware devices, software, documentation, services, facilities, job descriptions, IT personnel etc...
Configuration Management allows for:
- Maintenance of version, ownership and status information for Configuration Items
- Description of relationships between CIs
- Audit of the IT infrastructure, in order to ensure that it contains only authorized CIs.

You had mentioned that only the authorized Configuration Items can be present in the system. Who enforces this? can't this be prevented before creation of this CI?
